A Rock to the Head
At our volleyball league on Wednesday, we had a great fan turnout, with Dale, Chris, and Jeremy out to cheer us on. It worked too, with us winning three games to one, the final game being 25-23, a nailbiter. After the game, we were just sitting there talking, our three fans, plus myself, Jeff, and my sister Beth. After a while, there wasn't much to talk about, so Beth amused herself by hitting stones from the beach with a Pepsi bottle. Jeff would toss them up in the air, and she would hit them, pretty exciting stuff. Anyway, about ten seconds after a warning from Jeremy that she would hit someone with a rock, she did. There was a lady around twenty feet away, and Beth smoked this rock that flew through the air and pegged the lady in the head. She turned around and shouted, "What the hell was that?!"
Poor Beth, she felt awful, and apologized profusely to the lady, who calmed down after Beth explained what had happened. I enjoyed the irony of the whole scenario tremendously, that there were five guys and one girl sitting there, and it was Beth, one of the most gentle people I know, who almost got in a fight with a forty-year-old lady.

I think it's also ironic steve that beth had just said as she was swinging how there was no way she could hit a stone that far.
