As Zion's sibling's due date draws nearer, Rachel and I have been discussing possible names for the little one, and we've agreed upon a name if it's a boy. However, we're kind of split if it is going to be a girl. My preference would be Rebekah, which was our second choice for Zion, and Rachel is leaning more towards Zoe. Both really nice names, but here is where we disagree:
Rachel thinks that it would be bad to have one daughter named Zion (an uncommon name) and one named Rebekah (a more common name). She thinks that we should have two names that are closer in their commonness. I think that doesn't really matter, and it might be a trend that would be hard to break if we start naming all our kids with "Z" names. If we have a third, we're going to have to be looking at Zack, Zeke, Zebediah, Zebulun, Zephyr, Zen, etc. Plus, my cousin Sarah has a daughter named Zoe, who is the same age as Zion, and is there room for two Zoe's in the family? Sarah, please weigh in on this one.
Well, we still have some time to decide this, but we'd appreciate some feedback from all you faithful blog readers. Any suggestions?

Zion, if only you could spend some time thinking of your potential little sister's name instead of climbing in and out of your toy basket...

G'Day Steve - Glenn from Australia here. I like your line of reasoning and I also think that Rebekah is a nice name. So Rebekah gets my vote. Think thats about 3 votes to 1 now!

I am staying out of the vote mostly beacuse I know that deciding on a name for a little one is tough enough with just the two of you weighing in on it.
I think Zoe would be lucky to have someone else sharing her name so please do not worry at all about that. We feel happy that you liked the name so much!

Hey Steve, Chris(Lewis)here! I think Rebekah is a very nice name BUT I also like the name Zoe. I think it would be cool if they both had a name that starts with a "Z" but then again other people would not. I personally like both. So what ever you guys choose is going to be a good decision. Cant wait for Club! See you on the 24th!
