Since Rachel and I moved to Vernon just over a year ago, we decided to go without television. I don't really miss it that much, since I can check the news at work and most of what is on there is garbage anyway (albeit garbage that sucks you in).
There wasn't even a hockey season last year, so there was nothing that I was missing. However, now that hockey is back on, and it's an exciting year with all the rule changes, I really felt like I was missing out. Rachel sure didn't care, since she likes hockey live, can bear it on TV, and can't stand it on the radio.
Last week I finally discovered how to get a clear picture of CBC, so now I can get Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday nights. Rachel was having some girls over to play Cranium, and asked if I would stay home to keep Zion occupied while they hung out. So I moved the TV into the bedroom, and connected the coaxial cable to a wire (which happened to be our cell phone charger), and we were all set. Saturday nights are the perfect amount of hockey to give me a fix to last the week.

Brittany is all smiles and Zion is in the festive mood now that they can watch a post-game interview with Ron Maclean and Eric Lindros.
