Do you want a cow? Me too!! I think it's time for Canada to start allowing bribes from its elected officials to the people who vote for them. In the Sri Lankan presidential election coming up on November 17, a wealthy presidential candidate promises to give a free cow to every Sri Lankan home if he wins.
The candidate, Victor Hettigoda, was quoted as saying, "Every Sri Lankan home will be gifted with a high milk-yielding cow from (the Indian state of) Kerala which could be expected to yield 10 litres to 16 litres of milk every day. Even families who live in flats, who could make suitable arrangements to look after a cow, will receive a gift of cow."
We're talking high milk-yielding cows here, not just any old cow, and they're for everyone, even families in the flats. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Those families in the flats always seem to get shafted. Victor, if I had dual citizenship, you'd have my vote. I've always thought I should be drinking more milk, and 10 to 15 litres a day would be a good place to start.

so milk is good and all but i see a flaw with this plan. every family probably can't drink that much milk each day. so what are they going to do with all their extra milk? they can't sell it to their neighbours because they would also have a cow and an abundance of milk. what to do with all that milk?

...and the beef, once the cow inevitably dies.
