I'm pretty bummed about this teacher's strike, since our volleyball season is now on hold and our team was making such good progress. The only meeting planned between the two sides as of now is an appointment today in B.C. Supreme Court, where a judge is expected to slap a fine on the B.C. Teachers' Federation for refusing to end a strike declared illegal last week by the B.C. Labour Relations Board.
Let's just hope that the two sides can reach a deal so that the 600,000 students in the province who are missing school can get back to hitting the books. I know there are some students who would rather be off the rest of the year, but think of those poor grade twelvers who need to graduate.
