Yesterday was the last night of the Armstrong Fair, and we got to go to the rodeo with some of our favourite Young Life leaders, Miranda and Matt (who is one of the newest residents of Armstrong). We also had the rest of our pseudo family with us, meaning Brittany and Cam, and met up with the Evans's, a wonderful family that just moved to our church from Saskatchewan. They have five kids, and it brought back memories of my childhood, where we had a big brood too.
The rodeo was pretty sweet, and it's amazing how those guys can be bucked off a huge bull, get partly trampled on, and still get up, shake the dirt off themselves, and walk away with dignity. It really contrasted in my mind with when I watch professional soccer on TV, when a soccer player gets kicked a little bit in the shins and needs to be carried off on a stretcher. I guess it's just the nature of the beast. By the way, I have nothing against non-professional soccer players; I think it's a great sport. It's just not rodeo.
