A reminder to anyone who's going boating on the lake this summer to practice water safety at all times. In the last week there was the tragedy with the police officer here in Vernon falling overboard and drowning, and now in Kelowna there was a houseboat that was over capacity and tipped over, killing a young woman. It was probably one of those situations where the person in charge didn't want to ruin everyone's fun by telling some people to get off the boat, but a little ruined fun never killed anyone. If it's a matter of safety, it's never uncool to stay on the safe side, whether you're dealing with water, fire, alcohol, drugs, or any potentially hazardous situation. Stay safe!
