Waking up this morning and seeing the clear blue sky outside, I feel so fortunate to live in the Okanagan. I've been to a lot of places around the world and never have I been to a place like Kelowna or Vernon. When I lived in Winnipeg we had to drive an hour to get to Grand Beach, and everyone gushed about how it was once voted one of the top ten beaches in the world. When I looked into that claim, I found out that it was voted one of the top ten beaches by Playboy Magazine...what!!!? It was terrible, there were insects there that shed their skins all over the beach, and when you walked you would feel them crackle underneath your feet. Not to mention the Provincial bird of Manitoba, called the mosquito. I'm happy with Kal Beach, and am looking forward to many days of volleyball and hanging out with my friends there. Who's with me? The Okanagan rulez!
